[edit] Volts, Amps, and Watts

Volts are like potential electricity. Batteries are rated by volts, and that is the deciding factor in how much resitance is needed. Amps is a measurement of the actual amount of electricity being used. Watts are used to determine power. Watts=Amps*Volts (abbreviated P=I*E, where P=Power, I=Current, E=Voltage).

[edit] Ohm's Law

A very consise definition of the basic quantities used to define & measure electricity can be found at Ohm's Law. Formulas and calculators are also provided. Additionally, you may find the LED Resistor Calculator Program useful.
